Substitute Behavior Interventionist

The Special Education Department is seeking a Behavior Interventionists for the Individual Success Program. The candidate needs to possess a desire to work with students who demonstrate behavioral and cognitive challenges. The Behavior Interventionist provides assistance to the staff to address and maintain appropriate student behavior. The person may also assist in other areas of instruction, recreation, classroom organization and general supervision of students. All activities are performed under the direction and supervision of the building administrator and special education teacher(s).
A strong candidate for this position would have experience working with children with behavioral issues, disruptive and/or at risk youth and must have the ability to create strong positive relationships with students, staff, and families, demonstrates effective communication/crisis intervention/resolution/mediation skills, as well as understands and applies the practices of cultural proficiency with students, staff and families.
This position is for the 2018-2019 school year. Flexible schedule as needed to fill in as a substitute at any of the Lincoln Public Schools locations. Salary $15.89 per hour.
