Location: Moore Middle School
This position will assist teachers with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students in the Individual Success Program (ISP) at Moore Middle School. Students placed within the ISP need intensive behavioral, mental health, and life skills support as a result of a verified disability such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, or other impairment. The ISP classroom at Moore serves students in upper high school grades and students 18-21 years of age with instruction focusing on completion of graduation credits along with job and life skills.
Job responsibilities may include individual instruction, small group activities, room supervision, and support as assigned. Hired persons will be trained in behavioral techniques and instructional strategies including, but not limited to, Handle with Care. All activities are performed under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher along with the building and program administrators.
Candidates must be caring, patient, enjoy working with students with behavioral and cognitive needs, and willing to be trained in behavior techniques and instructional strategies. Also, the candidate must have the ability to develop positive relationships, effectively communicate, and apply the practices of cultural proficiency with students, staff and families.
