Location: Belmont Elementary School
Will work with 3 and 4 year old children in a diverse learning and social environment. Preschool paras support students directly during small and large group activities, support outside supervision, support students with disabilities, and other responsibilities as requested to assist the classroom and special education teachers. Looking for candidates who have the ability to communicate with staff and children. Candidates should enjoy children, keep a sense of humor, show patience and thrive for consistency.
Position will support the morning and afternoon programs. Work schedule is 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Position requires 48 hours of semester college credit (equates to 72 quarter system ours) or an associate degree to comply with Title I requirement. Within this requirement, must meet requirements of State Rule 11, which states at least 12 semester credit hours in early childhood/child development or the equivalent in prior training or experience. Associate Degree in Early Child Development preferred. A candidate who does not meet these requirements may be considered. At time of hire, a condition of employment is to complete 6 hours via training or experience during the first year of employment; the other 6 hours must be met by the end of the 2nd year of employment. Must be 19 years of age and meet State of NE licensing requirements including being CPR certified and hold a First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain and maintain).
